San Gimignano, a typical Tuscan village, is famous for its mediaeval towers and has been nicknamed the “Manhattan of the Middle Ages”. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1990, it is a treasure waiting to be discovered and explored.
After a hearty traditional breakfast and a tour through the characteristic streets of the old town, you will discover a quiet family-run farm where you can taste the Vernaccia, a typical wine of this land. Renowned since 1200 and also mentioned in the Divine Comedy, it was the first Italian wine to be awarded the DOCG.
Let yourself be carried away by its richly-structured flavour with a sumptuous floral bouquet. Body, freshness and flavour are due to the particular composition of the soil of San Gimignano, an extraordinary amalgam of sands and, above all, clays. Taste a wide range of wines and flavoured olive oils, strictly home-made! Enjoy a typically Tuscan lunch, and for the most refined palates who want to enrich the experience, choose whether to enjoy a truffle-based, saffron-based or vegetarian lunch.
